Brass Roots Fest
September 13, 2026
12pm - 7pm
Brass Roots Fest is a free, one-day music and arts festival open to the public on September 13, 2026 at Bug Light Park in South Portland from 12pm - 7pm. Designed to celebrate creativity and community, the festival will bring people together with live music, visual art, food trucks, and family-friendly activities against one of the city’s most iconic waterfront backdrops.
The event emerges from more than a decade of vision and planning, and from months of collaboration with city officials to establish a partnership focused on expanding access to the arts. The project has already received enthusiastic support from the mayor and city leadership, with a shared goal of developing an annual festival that highlights music, dance, sculpture, theater, and performance art in 2027. While this first year is being independently funded and organized by Brass Roots Productions, the festival reflects a deep commitment to public arts programming.
Brass Roots Productions invites community members, visitors, donors, and sponsors to help shape an event that can grow into an annual tradition that celebrates the arts, strengthens community connections, and showcases the creative spirit of South Portland.
